How an education advisor was born
The decision to start Soraya Education Advisor was deeply personal. As a parent and an expat myself, I’ve experienced the challenges of finding the right school for my children in a foreign country. The uncertainty, the language barriers, and the overwhelming options can make this process daunting. My own journey inspired me to turn these challenges into an opportunity—to help other families navigate this often-complicated path with confidence and ease.
With over 17 years of experience in education, I’ve seen how critical the right support is for a child’s success. I’ve worked with families from diverse backgrounds, each with unique needs and aspirations. What stood out to me time and again was how parents yearned for guidance—someone who truly understood their concerns and could provide practical, personalized solutions.
That’s what Soraya Education Advisor is all about. It’s not just a service; it’s a partnership. I help families find schools that align with their values and aspirations. I provide unbiased support, whether it's addressing logistical challenges, understanding the Dutch education system, or helping children feel at home in their new environment.
But it’s more than just school search services. I wanted to create a space where parents feel heard and supported. From mentorship for university students to ongoing guidance for families, my goal is to build a bridge between education and well-being, ensuring that everyone in the family thrives during this transition.
Starting this company was my way of giving back to the expat community—a community that I deeply relate to and admire for its resilience. Helping families settle into their new lives while ensuring their children flourish brings me immense joy and purpose.
